We like to highlight the inventive ways our clients use PRUnderground to send their social media press releases. Here's a good one from February.
Fly6 had just launched a Kickstarter campaign for a combined taillight and HD camera device for bicycles. The device alerts drivers to the cyclist, records any accidents or close calls, and — just by being there — probably discourages drivers from tailgating too closely. Great concept.
At the time of the release they had a few thousand Australian dollars raised on Kickstarter. Three days later, they were at AU$122,915. They used plenty of other sales and marketing tactics too — PRUnderground was one piece of a smart, well-integrated plan — but here's what the release itself contributed.
- The release immediately ranked on the first page of Google News for the keyword in their headline, "cycling safety."
- It also ranked on the first page of Google web search for another phrase in the headline, "cycling safety accessory."
- On Twitter, it earned a favorite from bike pros Theneeds Cycling (with 3,227 biking followers).
Well done, Fly6.
