Privacy Policy
Effective April 1, 2026
1. Information we collect
We collect: (a) information you provide (name, email, company, payment details, release content); (b) usage data (pages visited, features used, session timestamps via Google Analytics); (c) device/browser data (IP address, browser type, referring URL). We do not sell your personal data.
2. How we use your information
We use your data to: process and distribute your press releases; deliver pickup reports and other release artifacts; send transactional emails related to your order; communicate product updates (with your consent); analyze usage to improve the Service; comply with legal obligations.
3. Email communications
By purchasing or creating an account, you opt into transactional emails (order confirmation, report delivery, status updates). You may separately opt into marketing emails. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time via the link in each email or in your account settings. Transactional emails cannot be disabled for active accounts.
4. Data sharing
We share data with: Stripe (payment processing); our email delivery service provider; Cloudflare R2 (file storage); Google Analytics (analytics); and the hosting and infrastructure providers that operate our platform and store your data. We require each service provider to maintain appropriate data protections. We do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
5. Press release distribution
PR Underground is a press release distribution service. When you submit a release, your press release content — including any media contact information contained within it — will be published and distributed to our partner network, search engines, and news outlets. Submitting a release constitutes your consent to this distribution.
6. Cookies
We use cookies for: session authentication; analytics (Google Analytics); preference storage. You can manage cookie preferences via the cookie consent banner. See our Cookie Policy for details.
7. GDPR (EU residents)
If you are in the EU or EEA, you have rights to: access, correct, or delete your personal data; restrict or object to processing; data portability; withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these rights, email help@prunderground.com. We will respond within 30 days.
8. Data retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active, plus 3 years for billing records and 5 years where required by law. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time; we will delete or anonymize your data within 30 days of a valid request, except where retention is required by law.
9. Security
We use industry-standard encryption (TLS) for data in transit and at rest. Access to customer data is restricted to personnel who need it to provide the Service. We conduct regular security reviews. We do not store credit card information in our systems.
10. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16. If we become aware that a child under 16 has created an account, we will delete their data promptly.
11. Third-party links
Our website may contain links to third-party sites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites. Please review the privacy policy of any site you visit.
12. Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be communicated by email and by posting the updated policy with a new effective date.
