Every month we like to show real results from press releases run on PRUnderground.com. Here's one from last week, titled "Texas Honors Small Business Owners by Celebrating Social Media Day June 29." It announced the third annual DFW Rocks Social Media 2014 conference, hosted by social media coach and strategist Lissa Duty.
So let's look at what happened when the release was distributed. It ranked on the first page of both Google and Google News for the terms in the headline — "Texas Social Media." That's a difficult set of keywords to rank for (685,000,000 results), and it did so within minutes of release.
It also picked up several retweets on Twitter, and two of the 100+ news sites that published it were:
- Boston.com
- International Business Times
Every release is different, and front-page Google rankings typically fade within a couple of days — but this shows what can happen, even for competitive keywords, when a skilled digital-marketing PR strategist is behind the release.
(Note: all case studies are meant to objectively show the actual ranking results and activity from a client's press release on PRUnderground.com. They aren't endorsements of either the PRUnderground service or the client's business — just an interesting sample of possible results.)
